POLICIES AT DOS VENADAS RANCH

Four or more shooters may book exclusive use. Fewer shooters may have to share the facility with other guests. In that event, the guides will make blind assignments using whatever method is deemed fair.

One-half deposit is required at time of booking for first-time shooters. Repeat guests are not required to make a deposit. Deposit is 100% refundable up to 30 days before arrival. After that the deposit is not refundable, but may be applied to a rescheduled time.

Refunds will not be issued on account of weather, but rain checks will be issued if the weather is unsuitable. This means that no photography is done, but the day is cancelled in the morning before any shooting starts. Once the shooter decides to begin work in spite of the weather, we will not honor cancellations on account of weather. Rain check days must be scheduled in advance like any other day.

A suitable guide is required for non-workshop groups. A list of approved guides is maintained and will be supplied on request. These guides are all published photographers who are familiar with south Texas and Dos Venadas. The guides are all capable of providing various levels of support, including photographic instruction. The guide is the representative of the ranch to be sure that all rules are followed and that all guests receive the support needed. The guide is the final authority and authorized to make day-to-day decisions regarding ranch use and policy.

Special requests, such as night shooting, extended hours, etc. may entail an extra charge.

The guide or the ranch owner have the right to end a shooter’s stay at any time for unacceptable behavior, violation of ranch rules or any other reason. In that event, refund will be made for unused days only.

Meals are the responsibility of the shooters. You may use one of Campos Viejo's meal plans at their lodge or return to eat at one of the many restaurants in Rio Grande City.

The calling of birds or predators with recorded calls or mouth calls is prohibited as it may disrupt nesting activity.

A signed release and payment is required before any activities begin.
